Networking on Autopilot

Opportunity
Improve user retention week over week by making meeting new people a part of their weekly routine
3 month retention +25%
When new users sign up for consecutive weeks, they are more likely to stay active after 3 weeks
45% users already do this
Users already sign up for the same time every week to meet new people
More satisfied users
Users are happier with the people they meet when more signs up, because they are more likely to meet more relevant people.
Contributions
Spec'd project with CTO and project lead engineer for growth
Spec'd, conducted, and reviewed user research with Head of UXR
Worked with 1 FE and lead engineer for build and review
Designed from idea conception to launch
Biggest Challenge
Changing established habits and expectations for how the product works
Other challenges

Managing user expectations and ghosting
What do we prioritize?
If prioritize:
1
Edit upcoming meetings
2
Skip this week's meetings
If prioritize:
1
Review times
2
Edit times for the week
Decision: hide options in settings page
Ultimately, we decided that though we did not want users to meet their meetings, allowing them to easily edit or cancel their recurring meeting defeats the purpose of the feature.

Launch and learnings
This flow is now live on Lunchclub.com. If you go through the sign up flow, you will see these last couple of pages to select your time slots. The four week retention for new and existing users did improve quite a bit for awhile, but tapered off.
